WORKSHOP
As the Interactive Media Specialist Technician at the Creative Technology Hub, London College of Communication (UAL), I support BA, MA, and PhD students working on visual programming, projection mapping, and physical computing projects.
I develop and lead beginner-friendly workshops that introduce students from diverse backgrounds to TouchDesigner, a visual programming environment for real-time interaction. I also deliver advanced sessions in physical computing and projection mapping, and regularly conduct research to develop tailored learning resources. In addition, I provide one-to-one consultations to help students address the technical challenges of their individual projects.

One example is the Kinects session, which invites students to combine papercraft and electronics. This workshop allows them to explore the fundamentals of physical computing using sensors and motors, while also practicing coding with basic conditional logic such as if statements.
Recognising that coding can often feel intimidating, my goal as a technician is to make technology approachable through a learn-by-making approach that encourages experimentation and hands-on discovery.

Within the Creative Technology Hub, I manage various facilities, including a multipurpose booth and projection studio, and oversee the related technical equipment. I also maintain the soldering bench, where I provide inductions and hands-on guidance.
