BODIES OF WATER

Bodies of Water is a virtual collaboration between four women artists that began in the summer of 2020, during the height of the pandemic. The project explores how water—present in each artist’s local landscape—can become a medium for connection and care across distance.

The work unfolds across the Mediterranean Sea in Sicily, the rivers Bünz and Limmat in Switzerland and an artificial pool at Leonie Condotel in Singapore. Through these diverse bodies of water, the artists explore the intimate relationship between women and water itself.

Guided by curiosity and experimentation, the project unfolds in an ephemeral performance. Each gesture becomes an unscripted ritual, each movement blurs the line between body and environment. Boudaries begin to dissolve and the notion of ownership fades, giving rise to a shared sense of mutual care—fluid and unconfined.
